Howard Lloyd Saunders, age 89, of Asheboro died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Saunders was born May 3, 1926 in Randolph County to Causey and Mammie Saunders. He was retired from Piedmont Electric in Asheboro. Following his retirement, Lloyd was employed with Lowes Foods in Randleman. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his brother Tracey Lee Saunders and sister Doris Jean Miller. He is survived by his wife, Rose D. Saunders; sons, Jimmy Lee Saunders and wife Rachael of Blacksburg, SC, Pate Carter of Brown Summit, Tony Carter of Lakeview; daughters, Annette Chriscoe and husband Joe of Seagrove, Nancy Routh and husband Bill of Franklinville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Pauline Johnson of Siler City. The family will receive friends Friday, May 8, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Lilly officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Randolph Hospice House, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
