Linda Russell Ray, age 75, of Troy died Thursday, March 15, 2018 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Mrs. Ray was born September 3, 1942 in Albemarle, NC the daughter of the late Jacob Charles and Hazel Maxine Cooke Russell.
Linda retired as an Assistant Clerk to the Montgomery County Clerk of Court after 28 years.
Linda is survived by her husband: James (Jim) W. Ray; one son: Jimi and Wife Angie Ray of Dallas, NC; grandsons, Austin Ray and Andrew Ray; nephew, Shawan Russell and wife Kelsey, of Pineville, NC. Linda was predeceased by her parents and one brother, Jacob Charles Russell, Jr.
Linda was known to always be ready to listen and help with anyone's problems. She had a deep love for the Lord and demonstrated her faith in Christ in how she lived every day. She was a loving, honest, caring, above trustworthy person. She cared deeply about others, always putting them before herself. Linda's family was most important to her. Some of her favorite things to do was watch her grandsons play baseball and football and listen to her son play guitar and sing.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1:30 - 2:45 pm at First Baptist Church of Troy, 401 E. Main St., Troy, NC. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 PM with the Dr. Jeffrey Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.
