Linda Hicks Hacker, age 73, of Carthage died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services, Pinehurst.
Linda was born January 4, 1943 at Troy, NC, the daughter of Sherman Griffin and Annie Pauline Burns Hicks, both who precede her in death.
She was a graduate of Troy High School; a member of Central United Methodist Church of Sanford and a former employee of the Asheboro Police Department. She retired as a NC Magistrate from Montgomery County. Linda served twenty-six years in law enforcement.
She enjoyed spending time shopping, loved jewelry and all things that sparkled. She also loved to travel and her dog, Shotzy.
She is survived by one daughter: Tracy H. Blake and husband Alan of Carthage, NC and one son: James C. Hacker and wife Colleen of Charlotte; four granddaughters: Mary, Gracie, Sarah and Eliza; one sister: Elaine Cox and husband Howard of Troy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home of Elaine and Howard Cox, Love Joy Rd., Troy. A Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Love Joy United Methodist Church, 1137 Substation Rd, Troy with Rev. Ron Scott and Rev. Christopher Humphries officiating. Inurnment will be private.
