Lina Mae Moffitt Ferree

Lina Mae Moffitt Ferree, age 92, formerly of Randleman died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Ferree was born in Asheboro on May 16, 1923 to William and Mamie Lambert Moffitt. She was involved in a musical theater group in Ohio. Lina was a member of First Baptist Church in Willowick, Ohio for 38 years and for the last 20 years a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Lina was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Earnest Boyd Ferree, sisters, Cladie Craven and Berta West, and brother, Lester Moffitt. Lina was a learned, caring, and tender hearted woman described by friends as "An Elegant Woman." She gave testimony that as a young girl, she pledged her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. She is survived by her sons, Reggie B. Ferree and wife Diana of Asheboro, Gary M. Ferree of Randleman; grandsons, Jonathan B. Ferree and wife Rebecca of Arlington, VA and Benjamin S. Ferree of New Orleans, LA; great granddaughters, Anabelle Ferree and Calla Ferree. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 10:00-10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Pugh officiating. Burial will be in the Browers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
