Lillie Ruth Trogdon Edwards

Lillie Ruth Trogdon Edwards, 95, of Asheboro peacefully passed away at Randolph Health and Rehab on Monday, March 23, 2009. Ruth was the daughter of the late Albert Harrison and Mary Jane Bean Trogdon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ernest Elmer Edwards. Surviving are son, Donald Ralph Edwards of Florida; grandson, Jesse Clayton Edwards of Florida; great grandson, Jackson Thomas Edwards of Florida. Ruth was the matriarch of many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and each knew the special place they held in Ruth's heart and cherished their relationship with her. Ruth and her husband Ernest were accepted by profession of faith to Asheboro Friends Meeting on December 10, 1935 and remained faithful members throughout their lives. Ruth was a wonderful servant, friend and family member. Her church family of 76 years sustained her and her large immediate family reaped the benefits of her life of faith. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 11:00 am at Asheboro Friends Meeting with Revs. Ken and Pat Thames and Rev. Leslie Winslow officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Asheboro Friends Meeting, 230 E. Kivett St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
