Lillie Handy Allred

Lillie Handy Allred, age 88, of 617 Daniel Rd., Asheboro died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11:00 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Pierce and Rev. John Auler officiating. Burial will be in Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Seagrove. Mrs. Allred was born in Patrick County, VA and was raised in Randolph County. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. Mrs. Allred was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Posey Handy, her second husband, Henry Allred and daughters, Lillie Ruth, Betty Jean and Norma Jean. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Speight and her husband George of Siler City, Brenda Hines, Phyllis Swaney and her husband Walter of Reidsville; sons, Tommy Handy and his family of Carthage, Jerry Handy and his wife Carol of Asheboro; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Treva Greene of Asheboro, Trudy Painter and her husband Bud of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at her home.
