Lillian Young Greene

Lillian Young Greene, age 90, of Asheboro died Friday, July 19, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Greene was born September 2, 1922 in Lexington, NC the daughter of Wiley Deaton and Pearl Augusta Parks Young and was a 1941 graduate of Davis-Townsend High School, the last class of the 11 year graduates. She was retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill. She loved her church family at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Greene, and siblings, Woodrow Young, Paige Kennedy, and Irene Beane. Lillian was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all. One of Lillian's favorite past times was watching for Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees on television. She is survived by her sons: Dwayne Farabee, and his wife, Jeannie, Lanny Greene, and his wife, Tammy, Mark Greene and Janice Rivers, all of Asheboro, Grandchildren: Bambi Butler of Hollywood, SC, Dawn Chiasera of Davidson, NC, Kim Nelson of Greensboro, NC, Jay Greene of Asheboro, NC and Leslie Smith of Reidsville, NC, and brother: Smith Young of Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be held Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:00 at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, 157 Sawyersville Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Jeff Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
