Lillian Hodgin Delk, age 84, formerly of Asheboro, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, in Wilmington, NC.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Holder, Rev. George Roberson and Rev. Dr. Don Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Delk was a native of Randolph County in the Holly Springs area. She graduated Valedictorian at Ramseur High School and attended Woman's College, now UNC-G.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was past President of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Delk was a past President of Business & Professional Women's Club, was co-owner and operator of Delk Florist with her Husband, J. C., and was a member of NC Florist Association where she was awarded Designer of the Year. She was also co-owner of Ma'Ma's Kitchen and Secretary-Treasurer of Randford, Inc. She was preceded in death by her Husband, J. C. Delk, Jr., and her Son, Tommy Delk.
She is survived by Son, Joseph C. Delk, III and Wife, Frances Delk of Lenoir, NC; Daughter, Dee Delk Scarborough and Husband, Chris Scarborough of Wilmington, NC; Daughter-in-Law, Cheryl C. Delk of Wilmington, NC; Grandchildren, Jennifer Delk Boaz of Greensboro, NC, Joseph C. Delk, IV of Charleston, SC, Jacqueline E. Delk of Raleigh, NC, T. C. Scarborough of Wilmington, NC, John Tanner Scarborough of Wilmington, NC, Kimberly C. Delk of New Orleans, LA, and Laurie E. Delk of San Diego, CA; Great Grandson, Dylan Thomas Davis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2008, from 6-8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC.
