Lillian Williams Bailey

Lillian Williams Bailey, age 95, of Asheboro passed away on August 27, 2024 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Randolph County on September 27, 1928 to Sam and Theodosia Hardister Williams. Lillian retired from Bossong Hosiery after 47 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and was the pianist for Russell’s Grove Baptist Church and Antioch Baptist Church for many years. Lillian loved playing gospel music and was a talented guitar and piano player. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Junior Bailey, her sisters, Alta Conner, Effie Morgan, and Dorothy Hulin, and brothers, Nolan Williams and Herbert Williams.

She is survived by her son, Danny Bailey of the home; grandchildren, Jeremy Bailey of Asheboro and Nicole Bailey of Asheboro; great granddaughter, Lily Bailey; nieces, Doris Leonard, Bernice Moffitt, and Nola Williams; and nephews, Kenneth Conner and Gene Williams.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church, 148 Drum Street in Asheboro with Rev. Jimmy Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Russell’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
