Leroy M. White, age 84, of Asheboro died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Fonner and Rev. Garry L. Reeder officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. White was born in Harnett County on May 17, 1929 to John and Ethel Allen White, who preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Era. Leroy was retired from Lorillard Tobacco and owned several rental properties. He attended Russell's Grove Baptist Church and loved spending time on Lake Tillery.
He is survived by his son, Dwain White and his wife Lorrie of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jessica Baird and her husband Joseph, Justin White, and MacKenzie White; great grandchild, Kaydence Baird; brother, John D. White and his wife Irene of Asheboro; sister, Mildred Russell and her husband Herbert of Asheboro; and special friend, Minnie Cranford of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the homes of his sister and his son.
