Leora West Hogan

Leora West Hogan, age 94, of Asheboro went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Alpine Health and Rehab of Asheboro.

Mrs. Hogan was born September 17, 1930 the daughter of Lorenzo and Mary Elizabeth West. Mrs. Hogan was a native of Richmond County, NC and a faithful member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. She was employed by the City of Asheboro and was a secretary for First Evangelical and Reformed UCC and then as a volunteer for Hospice of Randolph from 1998 to 2002.

Leora enjoyed cross stitching and listening to her favorite gospel programs. She got great joy from being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her mother, Leora was preceded in death by her husband and several sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her three children, Gerald Lee Hogan of Hinesville, GA, Karen Hogan Brewer and her husband Scott of Southern Pines, and Phillip Wayne Hogan and his wife Susan of Asheboro; four grandchildren: Leigh Ann Hogan of Tennessee, Michael Hogan and his wife Katie of Asheboro, Steven Hogan and his wife Amber of Asheboro, and Amanda Piper of Fairview, Texas; four great grandchildren: West Hogan, Lena Hogan, Elias Hogan, and Walker Hogan all of Asheboro. She is also survived by her other grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her sister Christine Smith of Elon.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 11:00 am-12:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 1:00 pm at the Glenn “Mac” Pugh Chapel with Dr. Rob Roberts officiating. Burial will be held at Randolph Memorial Park.
