Leonard Perretta

Leonard Perretta, Sr., age 82, of Asheboro, NC and formerly of Elmont, NY died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Randolph Hospital. Mr. Perretta was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Elmont, NY before moving to Asheboro, NC. He was a member of the American Legion Baldwin Post # 246, and the Nassau County Forty-and-Eight Voiture #803. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elmont, NY. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Angelina Perretta; two sons, Anthony Perretta and his wife Dawn of West Chester, PA, and Leonard Perretta, Jr. and his wife Erika of Randleman, NC; two grandchildren, Michael and Lauren; and two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Cory. A visitation celebrating his life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The family will receive relatives and friends other times at the home of Leonard, Jr., 3871 Camp Nawaka Road, Randleman, NC. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Christopher Davis, will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 W. Wainman Ave., Asheboro, NC.
