Leon Charles Strickland

Leon Charles Strickland, age 77, of Asheboro died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Gunter officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mr. Strickland was born in Randolph County on July 6, 1934 to Charles and Rachel Strickland. He was retired from Klaussner Furniture and was formerly employed with Hop's Barbeque. Mr. Strickland was a member of West Asheboro Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pat Strickland; sons, Steve Hyler of Seagrove, NC, Darrell Woodle of Lexington, NC; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; brothers, Lacy Strickland, Junior Strickland of Coleridge, NC; sisters, Evelyn Oneal of Mt. Airy, NC, and Carolyn Nelson of Asheboro, NC.
