Leon Hale, age 67, of Asheboro died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mr. Hale was born September 20, 1946 in Dante, VA to Willard and Loni Hale. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Era serving in the 173 Airborne Division. Mr. Hale was president and co-owner, along side Leon Stokes, of World Information Systems of Greensboro. As a racing fan the company sponsored a TA-2 Mustang in the Trans Am series. He was loved and will be missed by many friends and family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hale was preceded in death by brothers, Roy, Milburn and Rodney and sister, Mildred all of Southwest, VA and the best dog a man could have, Daisy. He is survived by his wife, Judy Hale; sons, Jorma Hale of Lexington, Adam Hale of Denton; brothers, Otis Strouth and wife Jessica and their daughter, Tiffany Strouth, Johnny Strouth; sisters, Lois Hamilton, Joyce Glover; special nieces, Judy Hamilton, Missy Hicks; great niece, Anastasia Hartsock all of the southwest area of Virginia; nephew, Johnny Marshall and wife Tracy of Denton; and many more relatives throughout southwest Virginia. No services are planned at this time. The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice of Randolph for their exemplary care given to Mr. Hale during his illness. Also, to two truly great ladies, Annemarie T. Dloniak and Virginia Grimes of Carolina Bank of Greensboro for their friendship and their ability to make Leon feel special. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009. Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro is assisting the family.
