Leola Elizabeth Kennedy Lambert Snider

Leola Elizabeth Kennedy Lambert Snider, age 97, of Carolina House of Asheboro died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro with Rev. Jon Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Snider was a native of Moore County, born on March 8, 1913, the daughter of Luther Charles Kennedy and Nettie Nancy Garner Kennedy. She was a graduate of Elise Academy of Robbins in 1932. She was married to Marvin Lambert and they had one son Arnold Dean Lambert. She was employed with Klopman Mills in Robbins, and later moved to Asheboro with her son and worked at Klopman's in Central Falls until retiring in 1962 with 30 years of service. She married Wavely William "Wade" Snider on February 18, 1961 in Chesterfield, SC and they were married for 32 years until his death on May 9, 1993. He was buried in Oaklawn Cemetery. She had been a member of Forest Park Baptist Church, 195 Gum Street, Randleman, NC since it was built and was a member of the Balfour Chapter of the Eastern Star #210 since May 2, 1949, nearly 60 years. After retiring Leola was a seamstress for many friends, family and neighbors for 40 years. Leola loved her Forest Park Church family, playing piano by ear, sewing for others and making beautiful creations. She loved gardening and especially loved beautiful flowers. She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Charles Kennedy and mother, Nettie Garner Kennedy, first husband, Marvin Lambert, son, Arnold Dean Lambert, second husband, Wade Snider, sister, Cassie K. Lineberry, brothers, Sidney Kennedy, Hughie Kennedy, Gleason Kennedy, and Howard Kennedy, stepson, Bill Snider and stepdaughters, Doris Hanner, Hilda Lee Davis and Mary Lamb Copcea, and step son-in-law, Charles Trotter. She is survived by her grandson, Scotty Dean Lambert of Greensboro, NC; great grandson, Cameron Dean Lambert of Thomasville, NC; stepson, who looked after Leola, Frank E. Snider of Asheboro, NC; stepdaughter, Barbara Trotter of Charleston, SC; step daughter-in-law, Lucy Snider of Charleston, SC; step grandchildren, Denise Johnson, Kelly Snider, Patti Snider, Amy Snider Gillian, Craig Snider, Mark Trotter, Mike Trotter, Eddie Hanner, Kevin Hanner, Leigh Paige Hanner Smith, and Andrea Hanner Vaughn; 16 step great grandchildren; nieces, Delna Faye Lineberry Antaki and her husband Al of Virginia Beach, VA, Carolyn Kennedy Brumley, Sylvia Kennedy Dineen; nephews, Charles Kennedy of Robbins, NC, Lloyd Kennedy of Robbins, NC, Roger Lineberry and his wife Pat Lineberry of Alamance, NC, and Jimmy Kennedy. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Frank Snider, 1644 Brookdale Dr., Asheboro. Immediately following the graveside service, the family will receive friends at New Hope Bereavement Center, 137 South Park St., Asheboro. Parking available at Pugh Funeral Home.
