Lena Ruth Harris Marshall

Lena Ruth Harris Marshall, age 93, of Troy died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst. Mrs. Marshall was born April 18, 1920 at Anson County, NC the daughter of John and Patsy Crump Harris. She was a member of Troy Chapel AME Zion Church. Prior to her retirement she worked in the furniture industry. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Marshall. She leaves to cherish her memories seven daughters: Ethel Horne (Michael) of Troy, Darlena Biggers (Samuel) of Falls Church, VA, Nancy Drake of Charlotte, Doris Steele (William) of Mt Gilead, Faye Marshall of Troy, Edith Rector (Clifton) of Lorton, VA, Sharoyn Marshall of Springfield, VA and four sons: Richard Marshall of Baltimore, MD, Bobby Marshall of Biscoe, James Marshall (Deborah) of Carteret, NJ, Daniel Marshall of Woodbridge, VA;40 grandchildren and 57great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at her home. A Home Going Service will be Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Troy Chapel AME Zion Church, 130 Barnhill St., Troy with Rev. Raymond Mitchell officiating.
