Lena Miller Brewer

Lena Miller Brewer, age 96, of Asheboro died Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Brewer was born in Davidson County on July 8, 1919 to Everette and Minnie Hughes Miller. Lena retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill with over 50 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Trinity. In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Whitey" Brewer, sisters, Essie Moore, Carrie Pegram, and Callie Seawell, and brothers, Elmer, J.D., and Dalton Miller. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews and their families. Also, children who are now adults who grew up loving and being loved by Lena and Whitey. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 11:00 am-12:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bonnie Preston Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bear Creek. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
