Leah Elizabeth Way, of 2722 New Salem Rd., Climax, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Randolph Hospital.
Leah was born in Guilford County on March 28, 2000, the daughter of Tripp and Martha Way of Climax. In addition to her parents Leah is survived by her brothers, Will and Cameron Way; sister Mailey Way; grandparents, Neal and Susie Thomas of Climax and Bill and Brenda Way of Greensboro; great grandparents, Ray and Pauline Thomas of Climax and Bertha Baker of Greensboro and Lee Way of Atlanta, Ga.; Uncle and Aunts: Dean and Billie Wagner of Greensboro, Doug and Lorraine Thomas of Climax; cousins: Anna, Luke and Andrew Thomas, Ben and Ethan Wagner.
Leah was a 7th grader at Northeastern Randolph Middle School and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was passionate about sports, playing softball, basketball and volleyball. Leah especially loved being on the softball field. She started playing softball at 5 years old and touched many lives through all the rec seasons and travel ball tournaments she played. Leah was such a beautiful, talented, giving and respectful young lady and will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Centre Friends Meeting fellowship hall, 325 NC Hwy 62 East, Greensboro, NC with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary with Pastor Terry Venable and Pastor Jeff Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following the committal service at the graveside, the family will gather back in the fellowship hall for anyone who may have missed the visitation prior to the church service.
