Larry Duane York

Larry Duane "Hollywood" York, age 77, of Asheboro died Friday, June 24, 2016 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Born August 2, 1938, Mr. York was a native of Randolph County and formerly employed with Pugh Oil Company in their convenience stores. Larry was also formerly employed by Dog & Suds, Sir Pizza (north of town) and Food World. He loved music especially songs by Dolly Parton and TIna Turner. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ethel York. He is survived by his wife: Linda York; daughter: Julie Phillips and her husband, John Phillips; son: Brian Duane York all of Asheboro, grandson: Chase Hunt; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, June 27, 2016 from 5:30-7:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and the funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Farlow officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to NC Zoological Society, 4403 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC 27205.
