Larry Vernon Wright

Larry Vernon Wright, age 71, of Asheboro died Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Mr. Wright was born December 9, 1944 in Asheboro the son of Oran Vance and Lena Odell Wilson Wright. Mr. Wright was a native of Randolph County, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a life member of VFW Randleman Post# 9418. He was a member of the American Legion and Randolph amateur radio club. Larry was a member of Asheboro Friends Meeting and retired from Eveready Battery in Asheboro after 35 years of service. In addition to his parents Larry is preceded in death by his son-n-law, Roger Pearson. He is survived by his wife: Jane Vuncannon Wright; step daughters, Lisa C. Nelms and husband David of Angier and Jennifer A. Campbell of Raleigh; step son, Jimmy Campbell and wife Sabrina of Asheboro; step-grandchildren, Ryan Nelms and wife Allison of Angier, Christina Nelms Jones and husband Eric of Clayton; step-great-grandchildren, Dylan Jones of Clayton and Brock Nelms of Angier. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro with Rev. Robert L. Kidd and Rev. Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro with graveside honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
