Larry Darrell Vanhoy, age 62, of Troy died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston- Salem.
Larry was born November 17, 1950 at Troy, NC, the son of Robert D. and Margie McFalls Vanhoy. He was a member of White Crest Baptist Church and a construction supervisor with Sedberry Construction Company for the past ten years. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Vanhoy.
Larry loved his family and friends deeply. He enjoyed looking at classic cars, riding his motorcycle, attending church and singing Southern Gospel music as his favorite.
In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife: Judy Burris Vanhoy of the home; one son: Yancey Vanhoy and wife, Tammy of Mt. Gilead; one daughter: Marsha V. Crump of New London; grandchildren: Austin Crump, Ethan Crump and Hank Vanhoy; one sister: Catherine Anne Koenck and husband, Larry of Greensboro; one brother: Bobby Vanhoy and wife, Diane of Lexington.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 8, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at White Crest Baptist Church, 1051 River Road, Mt. Gilead with Rev. Toney Parsons and Rev. Darren Rowe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
