Larry Clark McDaniel, age 65, of Asheboro died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
Mr. McDaniel was born June 30, 1949 in Chatham County to Herman and Ethel McDaniel. He was a longtime resident of Asheboro and served in the National Guard for six years. Mr. McDaniel was a retired mechanic with Energizer after 38 years of service. He was an avid deer hunter and was very knowledgeable about guns. Mr. McDaniel was an advocate for the National Wildlife Federation. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Roy Smith, Leon Williams, Bill Russell, Kenny Robbins, Paul Hussey and Wendell Briles.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Brown McDaniel; daughter, Holly Farmer of Asheboro; son, Joshua Clark McDaniel of Asheboro, step-daughters, Melissa Clendenin of High Falls, April Dyer of High Falls; grandchildren, Jackson, Kyla, Rylan, Branson, Calissa, Ashlee, Nathaniel and Nickolas; sister, Mary Beth White of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 549 Plank Rd., Carthage with Rev. Dr. Bill Cooper officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors presented by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
