Larry Eugene Lassiter

Larry Eugene "Babe" Lassiter, age 79, of Troy died Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Mountain Vista Health Park, Denton.

Mr. Lassiter was born April 19, 1939 at Troy, NC the son of the late Alberta Lassiter and the late Elgie Morris Lassiter.

Babe was employed by Capel Mills as an Inspector for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He always had a sense of humor about him. He loved sports and enjoyed playing baseball and coaching softball. He was known as the best blocker on his 1957 football team. He loved his Tabernacle Church family, working and serving Veteran's meals sponsored by Tabernacle Baptist Church. Babe's last wishes were for people to accept Christ now and not later in life.

He is survived by his wife: Jannath S. Lassiter; two sons: Tim Lassiter and wife Karen, Peachland, NC and Kevin Lassiter and wife Teresa, of Mt. Gilead, NC; Grandchildren: Megan Burleson and husband Drew of Stanfield; Christie Lassiter of Mt. Gilead; Jordan Lassiter of Mt. Gilead, Terri Greene and husband Kyle of Troy, Jason Lassiter of Lilesville; Great-grandchildren: Kylie Burleson, Brooklyn Lewis, Adrianna Hartsell, Bryson Lewis, Ava Greene, Kinsley Burleson, and Calvin Greene.

A Memorial Service, honoring Babe, will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
