Larry Kenneth Hughes

Larry Kenneth Hughes, age 65, of 703 Eastview Drive, Asheboro died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Randolph Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brent Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mr. Hughes was a native of Randolph County. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietman Era, a brick mason, and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed being outside, especially the beach, and enjoyed caring for others. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Franklin and Hazel White Hughes and a sister, Jeanne Dunlap. The family gives thanks to Randolph Health and Rehabilitation nurses and staff especially Teresa, Melissa K., Angela, Amber, Melissa L. The family would also like to express a special thanks to Hospice House nurses and staff especially Tena and Brandy. The family also gives a special thanks to Dr. Murkin for your care and support. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Byrd Hughes; daughter, Tiffany Cooper and her husband Brian of Asheboro; son, Todd Hughes and his wife Sheri of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Marissa Hughes and Noah Hughes; brother, Frank Hughes of Wesley Chapel, FL; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
