Larry Dale Hogan

Preacher Larry Dale Hogan, age 66, of Troy, NC, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living, Candor.

Preacher Hogan was born March 9, 1952 in Troy, NC the son of the late James (Bill) Madison and the late Verlie (Freeman) Hogan.

He was employed by Republic Waste.

Larry loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed watching his sons and grandson racing at Caraway.

He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Harvell Hogan, one daughter: Michele Scott, and husband Brian Scott of Troy, NC; two sons: Tracy Hogan of Troy, NC and Joshua Hogan, and wife Sherri Hogan of Troy, NC; one sister Delores Hoover and husband, Darius, of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Logan (Eric) Scott; granddaughter, Asheton Scott, granddaughter, Grayleigh Scott; grandson, Caleb (Jana) Hogan; granddaughter, Kristin Hogan; grandson, Ryan Hogan; grandson, Chris Hogan; great-grandchildren: James, Emery, Bentlee, Chase, Addilyn, Annabelle, Lilly, and Nova.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandson, James Scott, and brother, Kenneth Hogan. 

The family will receive friends Monday, March 12, 2018 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC, and at other times at the home of Joshua Hogan, Chip Road, Troy, NC. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, 2356 Okeeweemee-Star Road, Troy, NC with Pastor Tony Sedberry and Rev. Danny VunCannon officiating. Burial will be in Forks of Little River Baptist Church Cemetery, Troy.
