Larry Edward Smith, age 69, of Troy died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Biscoe. Larry was born October 24, 1943 at Montgomery County, NC, the son of John Frank and Janie Blake Smith. He was a member of Long Hill Baptist Church, a former truck driver for Select Frames of Star and a US Navy veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Corbett Smith and brother-in-law, Jimmy Corbett. He is survived by one daughter: Sherri S. Davis and husband, Ronnie of Louisa, VA; 2 grandsons: Chase Edward Davis and Colby Martin Davis; his siblings: Johnny Smith and wife, Loretta of Biscoe, Dianne Thompson of Troy, Jimmy Smith and wife, Vickie of Troy, Sandy Dawkins and husband, Scott of Biscoe, Randy Smith and wife, Pam of Troy and Darlene Burner and husband, Mike of Concord; a host of nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Phebe Corbett of Troy. The family will receive friends Monday, April 15, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Long Hill Baptist Church, 637 Capelsie Road, Candor. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Long Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Forrest, Rev. Daniel Luther and Brother Grant Hinson officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International, PO Box 103, Troy, NC 27371 Pugh-Troy Funeral Home is assisting the Smith Family.
