Janie Larea Dunning Lamb, age 85, of Asheboro died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.
Mrs. Lamb was born June 13, 1929, daughter of Walter Goldsbury Dunning and Mary Elizabeth Brady Dunning.
Mrs. Lamb was a native of Davidson County and a homemaker. Larea was a member of Balfour Baptist Church and loved taking care of her home and family. She enjoyed working in her flowers and vegetable gardens. Larea will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Luke Henry Lamb in 2007.
She is survived by three daughters and their spouse: Ann and Terry Knowles of Asheboro, Peggy and John Jernigan of Hampstead, Teresa and Bobby King of Hampstead, 10 grandchildren: Brian (Phyllis)Knowles, Mark Knowles, Steven Knowles, Cindy (Tom) Boyd, Julia (Neal) Griffin, Laura (Joe)Pitt, Jordan Jernigan, Bobbie (Patrick) Chriscoe, Melisa Stevenson and kids, Amanda Wilson and kids; 11 great grandchildren: Katie (Jodey) Knowles, Maddison Knowles, Caitlyn Boyd, Natalie Boyd, Henry Boyd, Christian O'Brient, Elizabeth O'Brient, Joey Pitt, Haley Pitt, Dylon Cgriscoe, Luke Chriscoe; 1 great-great grandson; Jody Knowles; brother: Walter Clinton Dunning of Randleman, two sisters: Dorothy Callicutt of Asheboro and Faye Ledwell of Randleman.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 9, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Josh Leroy officiating. Burial will be follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
