Laney Anne Umfleet Buchanan

Laney Anne Umfleet Buchanan, age 70, of Randleman died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Randolph Hospital. Mrs. Buchanan was born on November 28, 1944, to Cleo and Alene Lowdermilk Umfleet. Laney was formerly employed with the Greensboro News & Record as a Graphic Artist. In addition to her parents, Laney was preceded in death by her son Timothy Mark Wheeler and brother Wayne Umfleet. She is survived by her husband, David Buchanan; daughter, Kim Wheeler Barham of Greensboro; grandsons, Tyler Wheeler of Greensboro and Billy Barham of Julian; sisters, Donna Farlow and husband Don of Lewisburg, WV, Yvonne Hershberger and husband Roger of Concord; and brother, Eddie Umfleet and wife Brenda of Roanoke, VA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 119 W. River Drive, Randleman with Rev. Carol Hunter officiating. Memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 119 W. River Drive, Randleman, NC 27317. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Buchanan family.
