L. Rex Honney

L. Rex Honney, age 75, of Asheboro died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Honney was a native of Seagrove and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed with Centel and retired from Randolph Telephone Company. Rex was a member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ and was preceded in death by his father Leoland Ted Honney and sister Dot Davis. He is survived by his wife, Betty Way Honney; son, Duane "Ted" Honney and his wife Shanon of Charleston, SC; mother, Erie Myrtle Luther Honney of Asheboro; and grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor Honney, Sarah Caroline Honney, and Patrick Honney. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
