Kermit Lee Harrelson, age 74, of Randleman died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Harrelson was born February 22, 1939 the son of Roba Lee and Hazel Cranford Harrelson.
Mr. Harrelson was a native of Asheboro, a US Army Veteran and retired from Commonwealth Hosiery Mill. He was a member of Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church. Kermit loved the Lord, his church and family. He enjoyed the beach and loved a good yard sale. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Kermit was preceded in death by his sister: Adrian King.
He is survived by his wife: Alice Whittington Harrelson; son and his fiancée: Mark Harrelson and Ashley Walker of Randleman, NC; grandson and his wife: Tony and Katie Harrelson of Randleman, NC; granddaughter: Sherry Jones of Lexington, NC; great-grandchildren: Aeva Harrelson, Tyler Jones, Kayla and Anna Gonzales, Emma Hardy; brother and his wife: Robert and Heidi Harrelson of Colorado Springs, CO: his wife's brothers and sisters, whom he called his own: Barbara and Robert Funderburk; Sue and Jerry Southard; Mary and Odell Shepard; Janette and Gene Chapell; Junior and Linda Whittington; Ronnie and Jean Whittington; David Whittington and Annette; and a special niece: Carolyn Cranford.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 28, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will follow Monday at 3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Randleman with Rev. Jon Perdue officiating. Burial will be in Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church Cemetery, Randleman with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
