Kenneth Thayer

Kenneth Thayer, Sr., age 72, of Troy, died Monday, July 2, 2018. Mr. Thayer was born March 13, 1946 in Montgomery County to the late Milton Worth Thayer and the late Grace Moore Thayer.

Kenneth grew up in the Ophir area of Montgomery County. He was employed as a truck driver for McLean Trucking and Yellow Freight for 30 years. He enjoyed go cart racing and fishing. He especially enjoyed fishing for croaker in the Chesapeake Bay.

He is survived by one son: Ken Thayer Jr., of Rockingham, one grandson: Mark Thayer and fiance' Carmen, of Kannapolis; one great-granddaughter: Aubree Grace Thayer; and one brother: Ronnie Thayer and wife Shelia of Ophir.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC.
