Kenneth Herbert Payne, Sr

Kenneth Herbert Payne, Sr., 74, a loving husband and devoted father, of Randleman, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011. Kenny was born February 4, 1937 in Washington, DC to Herbert Welford Payne and Melba Le Compte. He was employed by Potomac Electric Power Company for over 33 years of service. Kenny enjoyed many different hobbies and collections over the years, especially fixing up cars for car shows, particular FORDS. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Dorothy Ann Payne; two sons: Kenneth H. Payne, Jr. and his wife Vickie of Sherwood, MD, William Payne and his wife Leah of Randleman; one daughter: Vickie R. Butner and her husband Joey of Greensboro; brother: David Payne and his wife Patricia of Salisbury, MD; sisters: Jackie McQuaid of Davidsonville, MD, and Joyce Conway of Rockville, MD; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Roland Shepley and Pastor Alan Caesar officiating. Burial will be at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park Cemetery, Julian.
