Kelly Ray Lee

Kelly Ray Lee, age 78, of 1108 Pine Hill Rd., Asheboro died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Browers Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a member. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Adams, Rev. Jeff Sypole and Rev. Steve Stowe. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Mr. Lee was a native of Cheraw, SC and moved to Asheboro at an early age. He was a paint contractor and general building contractor who was founder and owner of Asheboro Paint Center for many years. Mr. Lee was a charter member of the Asheboro Optimist Club and was a founding member of the Ash-Rand Rescue Squad. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Lee Welsh, parents, Benjamin and Sarah (Gullege) Lee, sisters, Nezzie Sings, Azeline Wallace and brothers, Wilson Lee and Eldridge "Shorty" Lee. He is survived by his wife, Frances Auman Lee; son, Timmy Lee and wife Brenda of Randleman; daughter, Judy Edwards and husband Terry of Matthews; son, June Cooper and wife Marsha of Charlotte, James Cooper of High Point; daughters, Susie Cranford and husband Hoyt of Asheboro, Sharon Auman and husband Andy of Albany, GA; grandchildren, B. J. Pugh and wife Amber of Asheboro, Jennifer Weissman and husband Howard of Chicago, IL, Kristen Edwards of Cincinnati, OH, Marty Cranford of Julian, Joshua Cooper of Boone, Ben Cooper of Charlotte, Travis Auman of Albany, GA, Pam Goins and husband Robert of Seagrove, Amanda Beasley and husband Thomas of Asheboro, Rebekah Auman of Perry, GA, Shelley Brimer and husband Alan of Athens, GA, Sarah Kennedy and husband Chris of Winston-Salem; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Margie Kinney and husband Robert "June" of Asheboro and Ruby Johns of Cheraw, SC.The family will receive friends Friday, December 12, 2008 from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home.Memorials may be made to Browers Chapel United Methodist Church, 1663 Plantation Circle, Asheboro, NC 27205 or the charity of the donor's choice.
