Kelly Rufus Bennett

Kelly Rufus Bennett, age 81, of 1856 Burney Rd., Asheboro died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Randolph Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justus McKeel, Rev. Scott Kidd, and Mr. Gene Bumgarner officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Bennett was a native of Stokes County and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed with B.C. Moore & Sons for 40 years where he retired as Manager. Kelly attended Center Cross Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Ruth Beaver Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Mae Simmons Cole Bennett; sons, Mike Bennett and his wife Patricia of Asheboro, NC, Dean Bennett and his wife Lisa of Asheboro, NC, Phillip Cole and his wife Sharon of Asheboro, NC, Barry Cole and his wife Sharon of Asheboro, NC; daughter, Shirley Cagle and her husband Benny of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Garrett Bennett, Michael Bennett, Korey Bennett, Scott Cole, Greg Cagle, Kevin Cole, Kim Cole Gillispie, and Stephanie Cagle; and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
