“Laura” Keigh Scott Kerney, age 31, of Loftin Street, Troy died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory.
Laura was born September 23, 1980 at Asheboro, NC the daughter of Robert Scott and Pearl Poole Wallace. She had worked in the banking industry for the past fourteen years, having worked the last four years as a BSA officer with Community One Bank.
Laura was a member and supporter of Ducks Unlimited, a dedicated emergency service supporter and an avid scrapbooker. She was devoted to her family and most importantly “The Woman Behind The Man”. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wayman and Evelyn Scott.
She is survived by her husband, James Kerney Jr. of the home; mother: Pearl (Jim) Wallace of Rockingham; father: Robert (Angie) Scott of Seagrove; stepfather: Bobby Mathis of Robbins; siblings: Judi Wallace of Rockingham, Heather (Matthew) Cope of Madison, Julie (Donnie) Turner of Franklinville, Robin (Alan) Smith of Archdale, Amy (Jeff) Updike of Bedford, Virginia, Layne (Stephanie) Wallace of Clayton, Tony (Linda) Greene of Moberly, Missouri, Jennifer Greene of Thornton, Colorado; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jim and Pam Kerney of Troy; sister-in-law: Tonya (D.J.) Freeman; brother-in-law: Shaun (Jackie) Kerney; maternal grandparents: Hoy and Peggy Poole of Troy.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 5 pm at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 1569 Troy-Candor Road, Candor; other times at the home of Tonya and D.J. Freeman, 225 Poole Road, Troy.
