Kay Bennett

d. November 18, 2014

RANDLEMAN - Kay Moser Bennett, 65, returned to her heavenly home on November 18, 2014 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Kay graduated from Randleman High School in 1967, where she earned the honor of Valedictorian of her class. She went on to graduate from East Carolina University in 1971, with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Kay taught at Randleman Middle School for over 30 years, until her retirement. Kay was blessed with a loving family. She married her best friend Dickie Bennett, on June 17, 1973 in Randleman, NC and they raised two children together. Kay was a member of First United Methodist Church in Randleman. She also attended Dogwood Acres Presbyterian Church in Asheboro, NC. Kay was an educator at heart. She was tough, but fair, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem for her students, no matter how small. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and former students, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator. Kay is survived by her husband Dickie and her loving dog Lucy; their daughter Leigh Radichel and her husband Brian; their son Matt Bennett and his wife Abby; and their grandchildren Tyler and Alex Radichel. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Vera and Thomas Moser. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Noon at the First United Methodist Church in Randleman, with burial to follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Reverend Joe Brown and Dr. Dana Bunn will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank Fresenius Dialysis in Asheboro for their loving care of Kay over the past few years. The family would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at Duke Hospital Cardiac ICU for their excellent care over the past few weeks. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church 301 S. Main Street, Randleman, NC 27317 or to Dogwood Acres Presbyterian Church 1024 Park Drive, Asheboro, NC 27205.
