Katie Victoria Stout

Katie Victoria "Vicky" Dawkins Stout, age 88, formerly of Northview Drive, Asheboro died Friday, September 28, 2012 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Mrs. Stout was born June 21, 1924 the daughter of John Riley and Pattie Jane Andrews Dawkins. Mrs. Stout was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, was retired from Pinehurst Textiles, and was formerly employed with the daycare of the YMCA. She was a member of Asheboro United Church of Christ, where she worked in the nursery. She was an avid cook and loved working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Lumice Stout; two sisters: Hazel Bailey and Lucille Nance, two brothers: James Lewis Dawkins and Everett Dawkins. She is survived by two sons: Roger Stout of Sanford, and John Stout of Asheboro; three grandchildren: Makahla Stout and Caitlin Stout both of Salisbury and Megan Stout of Asheboro, three sisters: Swannie Patterson and her husband, Roy of Broadway, Beulah Minor of Raleigh, and Patty Ellis of Sanford, NC. The family will receive friends Monday, October 1, 2012 from 12:30 - 1:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC, 27203. The funeral service will follow in Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tom Benedict officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
