RANDLEMAN - Katie Belle Jackson Rachels, age 68, of Randleman died Monday, July 6, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Rachels was born July 12, 1946 in Robeson County to Roland and Lula Jackson. She was a member of Level Cross United Methodist Church. Katie was a rebellious teenager who didn't want to grow up. She was always seen with a big smile on her face and enjoyed teasing and cutting up with all of her nieces and nephews. Her laughter was contagious. Katie loved ballroom dancing, playing cards and was a caretaker to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Lamb Stewart, brothers, Eugene and Joe Jackson, sister, Lois Jackson Dennis, and son-in-law, Brian Hutchins.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Hutchins of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Laura and B. J. Hutchins of Winston- Salem, son-in-law, Jimmy Stewart of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jordan and Joel Stewart of Asheboro; sister, Kitty Melton of Boone; brother, James Jackson and wife Janet of Virginia; beloved sister-in-law, Barbara Jackson of Greensboro; brother-in-law, Walter Dennis of Concord, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Level Cross United Methodist Church, 10142 U.S. Hwy. 220 Bus. N., Randleman. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon with her nephew, Minister Michael Jackson officiating.
