Kathy Ashley

Kathren Payne "Kathy" Ashley, age 65, of 2179 WOW Rd., Randleman died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Randolph Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Road Baptist Church, 2179 WOW Rd., Randleman with Rev. Wesley Price and Rev. Don Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ashley's body will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mrs. Ashley was born in Attalla, AL on December 6, 1947 to J.C. and Alline Willbanks Payne. Kathy was born again on January 20, 1974 and she, along with her husband Don, was a founding member of Liberty Road Baptist Church. She was active in Jim's Kids and other committees. Kathy loved flowers and traveling, especially cruises. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother David Mayberry Payne. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Don Ashley; daughters, Jackie Willis and her husband Harvey of Seagrove, Bridget Harris and her husband Kevin of Asheboro; son, Don Ashley, Jr. and his wife Amy of Asheboro; grandchildren, Charles Willie Spencer and his wife Amy, Michael Lee Spencer and his wife Amanda, Franklin Willis and his wife Brandy, Tiffany Blackburn and Zachary Harris; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Larry Payne and his wife Judy of Attalla, AL; and sister, Tammy Abernathy and her husband Greg of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
