Kathryn (Dede) Bonner Reese, 73, passed away peacefully at home December 26, 2016. She is survived by Rob Reese, her husband of 49 years; Sister-in-Law Sara Beth Russell of Banner Elk; Brothers Allan Bonner Jr. of Raleigh and Charles Bonner of Greenville, NC; Nieces Kathy Bonner and Christy Betts of Durham; Nephews Allan Bonner III and Chuck Bonner of Raleigh; Grand-nieces Ashley and Katie Bonner of Raleigh, and Grand-Nephews James and Christopher Betts of Durham and Ryan Bonner of Raleigh. And two beloved dogs, Jazz IV and Cooper.
She was born in Kinston, grew up in Hertford, NC, attended High Point College and received a BS in Home Economics from East Carolina, a Masters of Business Administration from Appalachian State and an Associate Degree in Interior Design from Randolph Community College.
She worked as a Home Economist for Carolina Power and Light in Asheboro, an Agricultural Extension Agent in Guilford and Wilkes Counties, an Assistant Vice President of Human Resources with Northwestern Bank, a Senior Vice President of Human Resources with First Charter Bank in Concord and was co-owner of Reese Rankin Designs in Asheboro, specializing in commercial interior design of health facilities along with her partner Missy Rankin.
She loved her friends, painting watercolors and creating Portrait Sculptures. She enjoyed hiking, canoeing, white water rafting, bicycling, skiing, snowshoeing, gardening, tennis and golf.
She was active in her church, Good Shepherd Episcopal, served on the board of Randolph County SPCA and The Asheboro Public Library Foundation. She was a member of the Andrew Balfour Chapter of the DAR and the Thursday Study Club.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with The Reverend Joe Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
