Kate Sanders Brewer

Kate Sanders Brewer, age 93, of Asheboro died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 12:30-1:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Brewer was born in the Eleazer Community of Randolph County on October 15, 1919 to Farley and Nettie Russell Sanders. Kate was formerly employed with Bossong Hosiery, Acme-McCrary Corporation, Sew Special, and Shapiro & Shapiro. She was a member of First Baptist Church and in addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husband Craig Brewer, sisters, Flossie Overton, Genie Callicutt, Diza Kemp, Edna Sanders, and brother, Rom Sanders. She is survived by her step son, B.J. Brewer and his wife Lynn Luther Brewer of Asheboro, NC; step daughter, Linda Brewer Allred and her husband Odell Allred of Asheboro, NC; step granddaughter, Kristen Brewer of San Francisco, CA; sister, Vellie Sanders Stutts of Asheboro, NC; nephews, Joe Callicutt and his wife Martha Callicutt of Asheboro, NC, Charles Kemp and his wife Sylvia Kemp of Asheboro, NC; and niece, Hilda Mitchell and her husband Earle Mitchell of Springfield, VA.
