Kate Routh Hollingsworth, age 94, of Randleman died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was born September 23, 1917 the daughter of Claude and Eugenia Trotter Routh. Kate was a native of Randolph County, member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church and retired from Deep River Dyeing. She was an energetic and strong willed lady that loved to cook and garden. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Leo Hollingsworth, son Jerry Leo Hollingsworth, sisters Jessie Massey, Mabel Staley and Velma Grace Routh; brothers J.F Routh, Allen Routh, Neal Routh and Burton Routh.
She is survived by her daughter: Linda H. Brown of Randleman; grandchildren, Scott Brown and his wife Sandy of High Point, Deanna B. Hurley and her husband Van of Sophia; great grandchildren: Chad Hall and his wife Dana, Heather Hall and Robert Brown; 4 great great grandchildren; sisters: Helen Campbell of Sophia, Bobbie Lineberry of Randleman, and Gladys Brown and her husband George of Franklinville; brothers: Tom Routh and his wife Rita of Randleman, Clinton Routh and his wife Erica of Baltimore, MD, and Milton Routh of Franklinville.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home of Linda Brown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Carol Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
