Junior Columbus Tompkins

Junior Columbus Tompkins, age 75, of Randleman died Monday, March 28, 2016 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Tompkins was born June 13, 1940 the son of Roby and Grace Cockerham Tompkins. Junior was a native of Alleghany County. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard and going square dancing and animals held a special place in his heart. In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by his wife, Armeta W. Tompkins, brothers, Wesley Tompkins and James Tompkins. He is survived by his son: Billy Tompkins and his wife Michelle of Asheboro; step daughter, Donna Staley of Randleman; step son, Jack "Buddy" Wright, Jr. of Monroe; grandchildren, Brittney Tompkins, Cayce Debzi and her husband Sam, Steven Tompkins, and Aliya Tompkins; great grandchildren, Makinna McLean and Ethan Tompkins; step grandchild: Ellen Staley Lucas and her husband Jeff of Randleman; step great grandchildren, Dustee and Grant Lucas; sisters: Clara Portterfield, and Brenda Bedsol; and numerous extended family. Best friend and companion, "Tiny". The family will receive friends Friday, April 1, 2016 from 10:00-11:00AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel.
