Junior Shelley Hurley, age 81, of 5027 Garden Gate Rd., Asheboro died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service with military honors will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 3:30 pm at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lois Johnson and Rev. Tommy Kidd officiating. Mr. Hurley was a native of Montgomery County and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Known as the "Vacuum Cleaner Man", he was owner and operator of the Vacuum and Sewing Center for 30 years. Mr. Hurley was a loving husband, a great father and a blessing to many people in the Asheboro area, including customers and friends. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Doris Perdue Hurley; daughters, Vicky Hurley Harris and her husband Scott of Randleman, Lori Hurley English and her husband Charles of Asheboro, Dana Hurley Watson of Asheboro; sons, Michael Hurley of Asheboro, Tony Hurley and his wife Patty of Randleman; grandchildren, Chasity Brady, Kathryn Hurley, Landen and Morgen Faith English, Talan and Ayla Watson; great grandchildren, Lauren and Sheldon Brady. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Macedonia United Methodist Church, 905 Abner Rd., Troy, NC. 27356 Memorials may be made to Macedonia United Methodist Church, 183 Flint Hill Rd., Star, NC 27356.
