June Sanford Smith

June Sanford Smith, age 87, of 500 Mountain Top Dr., Asheboro, formerly of Archdale, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11:00 am at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting Cemetery with Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Mrs. Smith was a native of Washington, DC and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Albert Fort Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine "Robin" Smith Waitman of Asheboro; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry Sanford of Archdale, Warren Sanford of High Point. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
