June C. Hussey, 88, of Asheboro died Monday, February 1, 2016 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur surrounded by his family.
Mr. Hussey was born July 12, 1927 to Webster and Sarah Ritter Hussey. He was a native of Randolph County and a 1945 graduate of Asheboro High School. June served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from The Machine Shop at Acme-McCrary. June grew up in Central Wesleyan Church on Hoover Street and after marrying Evelyn he attended Oakhurst Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, June was preceded in death by siblings, Beulah Dunn and Quinton Hussey, and his son-in-law, Tim Robbins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Evelyn Nunnery Hussey; his daughter, Sally H. Robbins of Asheboro; granddaughter, Neelie R. Asbill and husband Jonas of Seagrove; great grandchildren, Dallyn and Corbin Asbill; brother, Sam Hussey and wife Jan of Asheboro; sister-in-law, Elizabeth B. Hussey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Oakhurst Baptist Church, 2225 South Fayetteville St., Asheboro with Dr. Keith Hudson, Dr. Richard Crider, and Dr. Rob Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
