Judy Corbett Smith, age 64, of 174 Corbett Rd., Troy died Sunday, February 22, 2009 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.Mrs. Smith was born in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of Bernard L. and Pauline (Gibson) Corbett. She was an active member of Long Hill Baptist Church and a former employee of Montgomery County Department of Social Services. She was on the Board of Directors of the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church and Cemetery Preservation Society. Judy loved collecting new recipes and cooking, fishing, watching sports, especially Duke and NC State basketball, Braves baseball and Panthers football. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.She is survived by her husband: Larry E. Smith of the home; one daughter: Sherri S. Davis and husband, Ronnie of Louisa, VA; one brother: Jimmy Corbett and wife, Phoebe of Troy; two grandsons: Chase and Colby Davis; 3 step-grandsons: Jason Davis and wife, Karen, Jerry Davis and Tyler Davis; 3 brothers-in-law; Johnny Smith and wife Loretta, Jimmy Smith and wife, Vickie, Randy Smith and wife, Pam; 3 sisters-in-law: Diane Thompson, Sandy Dawkins and husband, Scott, Darlene Burner and husband, Mike; aunt, Julia Allen of Asheboro; a host of nieces and nephews, great neices and nephews and special friends.The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 819 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Troy with Rev. Grady Blakely and Pastor Larry Beaver officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Cemetery, Troy.Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216, or Mt.
