Judith Smith Hedgpeth

Judith Smith "Judy" Hedgpeth, age 67, of 105 Victorian Court, Randleman died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves and Dr. Bobby Blanton officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 4148 Deep River Rd., Sanford, NC. Mrs. Hedgpeth was born in Lee County on November 3, 1944 to William Delmar and Leoma Coley Smith, who preceded her in death. Judy was retired from the Asheboro City Schools after 26 years of service. She was a member of Balfour Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Woodrow Sunday School class and was a "mother" to many of the youth. Judy loved her church, her family and cooking. She also loved flowers and taking cruises. She is survived by her husband of 46 Years, Steve Hedgpeth; sons, Brian Hedgpeth and his wife Nicole of Asheboro, NC, Joel Hedgpeth of Asheboro, NC; brother, Bill Smith and his wife Sheree of Sanford, NC; and sister, Joy Scott and her husband Tommy of Sanford, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
