Juanita Chriscoe Luther, 71, of 1365 Highway 64 West, Asheboro, North Carolina died February 11, 2010 peacefully at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30-2:00 PM and following the service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.
She was a native of Moore County, born at home by a mid wife to Clyde and Ometa Chriscoe.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years Horace Luther of the home, daughters, Kay Turner and her husband Terry of Seven Lakes, Kim Luther of Asheboro, and son Chris Luther and his wife Lisa of Seagrove. Grandchildren are Ben, Alex and Sydney Turner, Nick, Adam and Cole Luther.
Preceded in death by both her parents, Clyde and Ometa Chriscoe, by sister Velma Taylor Grant and brother Maurice Chriscoe. Surviving siblings include Graham Chriscoe, Colvin Chriscoe, Clyde Chriscoe, Herbert Chriscoe, B.J. Chriscoe, Gilbert Chriscoe, Edna Tillman, Marie Chriscoe, Bradley Chriscoe and Judi Rice. 33 surviving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three precious nephews, Tracy Taylor, Barry Slack and Robin Chriscoe and one precious niece, Debra Nance.
Juanita was a beautician by trade and also enjoyed gardening, singing and playing the piano. She immersed herself in her Lord, her family and her church. She valiantly fought a progressive disease but finally found victory in death. Her favorite song, "Victory in Jesus" says it all.
