Juanita Bailey Callicutt

Juanita Bailey Callicutt, 91, of Troy, NC died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Hospice House in Pinehurst, NC. Mrs. Callicutt was born on November 23, 1922 in Union County, NC to Frank and Florence Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Callicutt, 1 brother and 7 sisters. Mrs. Callicutt worked for several years at Belk-Cline in Troy and was the owner of The Fashion Shoppe in Troy for many years. She was active in the community as a former member of the Montgomery County Social Services Board of Directors, Troy Woman's Club, and volunteered with the Red Cross. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Troy where she sang in the choir, was a youth leader, lay delegate, and served on many committees. She is survived by a daughter, Diane Callicutt of Troy, a son, Charles (Pam) Callicutt of Greensboro; granddaughters, Caroline Medlin (Mark) of Greensboro, Carla Hankins (Tradd) of Apex ; 6 great-grandchildren: Calli Medlin, Johnathan Medlin, Carter Medlin, Luke Hankins, Adam Hankins and Noah Hankins. She is also survived by her special cat, Simon. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 3 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 239 N. Russell Street, Troy. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society, 1150 Okeewemee Rd,.
